On Tuesday the April 28, BBC reacted to the shocking videos circling the web of UFO’s gliding through the sky.
The article begins with a short video’s showcasing the clips that emerged in 2007 and 2017, and then follows with the reasoning behind the pentagons release of the video’s with BBC including a relevant quotation “we wanted to clear up any misconceptions by the public on whether or not the footage that has been circulating was real.”
The article then leads is to the sub-heading; ‘What’s in the video’s?’ This section of the article was a perfect inclusion in my eyes. It provides context to the video’s and gives the reader an overall sense of what they’re actually looking at instead of just black objects floating through the sky. BBC also include links for two separate articles in this sub section of the article, which allow the reader to delve deeper into the controversy surrounding this topic if they wish.
The next section of the article includes a short description of previous UFO sightings in which a Mexican farmer in 1947 witnessed something in the sky, and then the article concludes with a few quotations from the Navy and several tweets reacting to the release of these video’s.
Overall, the article was thought provoking with the inclusion of rhetorical questions such as are we really alone in the universe? The article also broadened its story and provide additional information on UFO sightings. Therefore, I would be of the opinion the article told the story of these UFO tapes to a decent standard. Perhaps, one or two more relevant quotations wouldn’t have gone a miss along with a few more images.
